Hey everyone,

Fall Pilgrimage is coming, 23 Historic Homes available to tour. Some private homes that are not open to the public. Everyday different homes are available to tour. Fall weather is usually great in Natchez.

Then the Great Mississippi Balloon Races, October 15th, 16th and 17th. Most rooms are booked now well in advance but keep checking because there are always cancellations in the last 2 weeks. We have a wait list started and will gladly take your name and number. We also check with the other BnB's to see who has cancellations and may be able to get you a referral.

One of our favorite Natchez events is Angels on the Bluff, November 12th and 13th, to benefit the Natchez Cemetery. Local citizens and actors portray famous Natchez citizens from history along a path in the cemetery. The cemetery is lit by hundreds of luminaries. It's not scary at all. We have purchased some extra tickets, because the event always sells out. Call in advance for reservations and we'll supply the tickets. Or you may call the Natchez Tourist Center and reserve tickets directly. They are $20 each and proceeds go to the cemetery for upkeep.

Summer in Natchez

Hey everyone, Summer is here and it is hot! My granddaughter Crista is spending some time with us this summer. Very excited about that! Scrap-n-on the river is coming up and it's indoors. July 22, 23, 24 at the Convention Center. Great Girlfriend Getaway! We are only a short walking distance to Convention Center. Full Breakfast included in your room rate.

The Natchez Food and Wine Fest is another fun event coming up. Byron and I went to the Wine, Beer and Food Tasting and it was well worth the ticket price. It's on Friday July 30th, with other events throughout the weekend. We can arrange everything for you.

In the near future, Angels on the Bluff, in November. Will keep you updated here or on the website http://www.bislandhouse.com. A not to miss event for all ages. Tickets do sell out, so watch out for the advance ticket sale start date. Until next time, Christine

Spring Pilgrimage is over but Fall Pilgrimage is just around the corner. Many of our antebellum homes are open year round. You don't have to wait for pilgrimage to visit.

Natchez Food and Wine Festival is July 30th, 31th and August 1st at the Natchez convention center. Byron and I went last year and it was alot of fun and well worth the admission price.

Hey Everyone,
Its been awhile since I was able to post a blog. Just retired from my full time job outside of the Bed and Breakfast. Looking forward to devoting all my energy to our Bisland House Bed and Breakfast. Lots of things going on in Natchez now. Pilgrimage is in full swing. We still have some openings for the weekdays. Visit Antebellum homes, take carriage rides, attend Natchez Little Theatre's Southern Exposure and the Natchez Pageant when you visit. Hey everyone, there's alot coming up in Natchez. Spring Pilgrimage starts March 6 to April 10th. Natchez Downtown Development is hosting a Mardi Gras Masked Gala, February 16th, 2010, Mardi Gras Day. Tickets are only $15 per person. Includes food, one drink and live music. We will have a silent auction to benefit Natchez Downtown Development. Casual Dress but wear your mask. Tickets available through Bisland House 601-304-5806 or NDD at 601-442-2929. The Art and Soul Festival will be held April 16ht to 18th. So save the date.
Bisland House still has openings. Please call to reserve your dates.

Fall Pilgrimage

Hey Everyone,
Fall Pilgrimage has begun. Many tours of homes available. Some not available otherwise.
3 House tour is $24 per person, 4 house tour is $32 per person, individual tickets can be purchased for Longwood, Stanton Hall and Rosalie for $8 each if purchased with a tour package, regular price is $10. Tickets can be purchased through the Natchez Pilgrimage Tours at the Visit0rs Center.

Natchez Little Theatre presents Fauntleroy Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Sunday October 15th at 2pm. Tickets are $15 per person.

Amos Polk's Voices of Hope Evening Entertainment
Dinner at the Carriage House at Stanton Hall and a Gospel Concert on the Grounds
Dinner at 6:45 Concert 7:30-8:30 pm $31 per person

Bisland House Bed and Breakfast still has room openings $125 per night plus tax, includes full breakfast.

Hey everyone, First Friday will be a fun night this month. Brandon McCranie will be our musical entertainment sponsored by Dr. Doug Smith of the Eye Center of Natchez. Music starts 6 pm on the corner of Main and Commerce. More music on Franklin, I'm not sure where yet. Shops open until 8pm with art exhibits throughout. Free refreshments at our Main St. and Franklin St. stores. Movie is 1000 Men and a Baby, with Gerald McCraney and Richard Thomas. I've seen this movie awhile back and it's a good movie and great family movie. Movie starts after 8pm when it gets dark. Bring your chairs and snacks or rent a chair for $1. We will have popcorn and refreshments for sale to benefit Natchez Downtown Development. Hope to see you there.

Friday August 7th, tomorrow, is going to be a great event. Artwalk starts at 6pm with Main St. and Franklin St. shops open late until 8pm. Refreshments will be served in each shop, special sales, and various artist displays throughout. Look for the white balloons to see who is open. There will be music in several locations on Main St. and Franklin St. At 8:30 the big screen will be up for this months movie night. Movie night has been changed to Friday nights. Bring your chairs and snacks, or rent a chair and we'll have hot dogs, popcorn and drinks for sale. Located at 100 block of S. Commerce. All of this is free to the public. Come out and join us for some family fun.
